Caitlyn Argyle, 17, hopes to raise $48,000 by encouraging people to pre-book a week’s work of holiday accommodation in the house she is looking to buy.
Caitlyn is hoping to convince 70 people to take up her offer and for every 10 weeks of accommodation booked, she will donate a week’s accommodation to a family caring for a child with cancer.
While her parents have guaranteed top loan her 90% of the money needed to buy the house, the teenager denies she is looking for a handout.
“I’m not looking for a handout. I’m offering 70 weeks of holiday accommodation in my new home for anyone looking to have a holiday here in the vacation capital of Australia,” Caitlyn said in YouTube video.
“I just need enough for the deposit and to cover the first year of expenses like rates, insurance and repairs.”
Caitlyn said she has already saved $4000 towards the deposit by doing odd jobs.
Caitlyn is carrying out her plan via crowd sourcing platform Indiegogo and no money has to be paid unless she reaches her $48,000 goal.
After launching her Indiegogo campaign just over a week ago she has so far raised $2,575.
