Around two-thirds of the new dwellings in Sydney over the next five years are expected to be constructed in Western Sydney, according to the latest projections of the Property Council of Australia.
The expected number of new homes in Western Sydney puts it "at the heart of future growth", said Ross Grove, regional director at the Property Council of Australia.
"The emerging centres in Western Sydney are undergoing a rapid transformation. We're seeing a shift in perceptions about the region and residents have every reason to be excited about the future that awaits," Grove said.

Four of the five council areas with the highest number of new dwellings forecast are in Western Sydney, with Blacktown and Parramatta leading the list.
"The Western Sydney aerotropolis and the growing commercial centres at Parramatta and Liverpool are central to boosting local jobs, reducing commute times, and reshaping perceptions about the lifestyle options available in our region," Grove said.
