A pair of multi-million dollar luxury villas on the Gold Coast's exclusive Albatross Avenue at Mermaid Beach have been put up for sale for a second time in the hope of securing buyers.
In what will be seen as a test for the recovery mooted to be taking place in the region's high-end, the beachfront properties will be launched with a price tag totalling just under $20m - $2.5m less than the first time they were listed.
"The beachfront market is starting to move again and there is nothing quite like this on the Mermaid Beach strip” said Gold Coast real estate agent Rod Lambert, who is launching the newly-finished projects.
The two properties sit side-by-side on an 878sq m block at 107 Albatross Ave and have a combined 13.5m of beach frontage.
The larger, four-storey villa features a rooftop terrace, plunge pool, spa, ground-floor wine cellar, gymnasium and an internal lift. The smaller of the two properties has a 20m lap pool.
According to the Courier Mail, marketing agent Michael Kollosche of Ray White Broadbeach, said the upper end of the market in the area known as 'Millionaires Row' was coming back to life.
"The worst of it [the global financial crisis] is over and a lot of people won't realise that until the first quarter of next year. By then they will have missed the boat.”
