After being on both sides of the rental market, businessmen Nigel Hall, Rob Silva and Nigel Rowe developed Kloozo in an attempt to improve relationships between landlords and tenants.
“All three of us have either been a tenant with a private landlord or a private landlord and we wanted to make something that would make being either of those a bit easier,” Silva said.
“We thought the best way to do that would be to create something that gives both parties equality in terms of information, either side can get on and see where things are in terms of rent or other charges or where a maintenance issue is at.”
The software generates a statement for both tenant and landlord showing a complete history of payments and charges, while the in-built maintenance module records when issues are lodged and resolved.
The software also includes an inbuilt messaging service and, in what the developers believe is a first, a payment gateway.
“The idea for the messaging app was to make communicating easier, rather than have phone calls going back and forth you can just send a quick message and they’re all recorded in the software in case there are any issues down the track,”
Silva said.
“Incorporating the payment gateway required a lot of technical work, we had to make sure it was Payment Card Industry compliant and from our research we’re the only platform that has one.
“It was a bit of work, but we think it really makes Kloozo pretty much everything a landlord or tenant could need.”
The platform is currently available in two forms, a free Starter version that allows for one property management agreement or the Investor pack that allows for three property management agreements at a monthly cost.
