PropertyGuru’s fourth annual Asia Property Awards (Australia) winners and highly commended awardees were announced on Thursday 9th December in a virtual gala celebration premiering on AsiaPropertyAwards.com and the official live platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
The program honours Australia’s real estate achievements to property seekers and viewers across the Australasia Pacific, and is a night of celebration in the excellence of design and development in Australian home construction, with highlights to air on the History Channel, the official cable TV partner of the awards.
Brady Property Group garnered some of the night’s most sought-after titles, including the top award of Best Condo/Apartment Development (Australia) for 380 Melbourne. The beautifully designed skyscraper in the Melbourne CBD also won the awards of Best Apartment Development (Victoria) and Best Apartment Architectural Design.
Volume Projects won the coveted Best Housing Development (Australia) title, as well as the Best Townhouse Development (Victoria) award, for Bridge P.M. Meanwhile, the Best Apartment Interior Design award went to V-Leader for No. 6 Sydney St while Willow Brighton by Samuel Property gained the Best Landscape Architectural Design award.
Optimus Developments scored the Highly Commended awards in both the Best Apartment Development (Victoria) and Best Apartment Architectural Design categories for K1 Residence.
Hari V Krishnan Chief Executive Officer of PropertyGuru Group congratulated the recipients of the Australia awards.
“The appeal of Australian homes remains strong even in these extraordinary times. As PropertyGuru leaps into its next phase of growth, we celebrate the real estate achievements of Australia and will showcase the country’s distinctive homes to property seekers, investors, and agents across Asia Pacific.
“The Awards series has become the Gold Standard of real estate in 16 markets over the last 16 years. This year’s award recipients remind us that recent setbacks neither hinder nor diminish the fundamental value of celebrating success.
“They have encouraged developers, large-scale investors, and designers to become better versions of themselves, creating the next generation of real estate developments and helping industry stakeholders make higher-quality decisions.”
Jules Kay Managing Director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events said there was a need to drive the awards into the virtual arena not just due to the global pandemic but to include a greater network of worthy recipients.
“Over the last 16 years, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards have expanded to become Asia's most prestigious and respected real estate honours. Since we introduced our virtual gala format last year, we’ve expanded our reach to new markets added to the series. We're delighted to see an increase in quality entries from Australia.”
“There’s no doubt that the awards have become the most respected and sought-after real estate awards series in the Asia Pacific region. When we switched to a virtual platform our digital and hybrid gala presentations were viewed by over half a million people across key regional markets.
“This year alone we granted over 360 awards in our country series and through this recognition of developers’ varied achievements, we hope to motivate leading industry players as they continue to break the boundaries of development and design and stay resolute in their mission to uphold the Gold Standard in real estate, no matter the challenges.”
The Australian awards were just one country category of the 16th annual Asia Property Awards which celebrates the Gold Standard of real estate in Asia. The awards were presented by Kohler and supported by Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, accolading Asia Pacific’s most illustrious, exemplary developers, developments and designs in 31 categories.
For the first time in the history of the awards, a company from Indonesia, Sinar Mas Land, won the title of Best Developer (Asia), besting nine country winners from around the region. It marks one of seven Best of Asia titles presented to companies representing Indonesia this year.
Vietnam gained six regional wins, with Mainland China was also well represented at the awards with five regional wins, including the all-new Special Recognition for Contribution to the Built Environment.
