For Anytime Fitness co-founder and property investor Jacinta McDonell, success is more than financial; it’s also about extending a hand to the disadvantaged.
“As entrepreneurs, we can sometimes focus too heavily on business and reinvesting without having a longer-term plan on a stable financial base. This is what property brings to us,” she says.
“My passion is to find properties that have uplift and can create revenue to give back.”
AT A GLANCE
First purchase: Property in Leichhardt, Sydney, purchased at age 24
Best property: Family home in Byron Bay
Best investment: Human Kind Project Foundation
McDonell contributes to initiatives aimed at ending poverty and hunger in Malawi, and her personal properties are not exempt – she has even rented out a family home in Byron Bay and given a percentage of the profits to the Human Kind Project.
“We have just moved out of our home in Woollahra to complete a large renovation involving all of our trades, to generate revenue through the rebuild to fund a project for our foundation. We expect it to be able to donate over $100,000 in 2019.”
